Quickest Reaction Challenge
Wait for the screen to flash green, then tap. Tap too early and you'll trigger a false-start penalty — the same way every player will if they jump the gun on the night.
Quickest reaction · 8-second window
- Waiting
- Go
- False start
What just happened
Your reaction time lands here once you tap — or when the 8-second window expires.
- Same go signal for everyone: every player sees green at exactly the same moment, no matter their connection.
- False starts are caught and scored worse than any legitimate reaction.
- Fair to distracted players: a missed tap is treated differently from a phone that never woke up, so penalties stay reasonable.
- Forgiving by a hair: a tap arriving a fraction of a second past the buzzer still counts.
What makes these rounds feel right
Clear reaction phases
Waiting → Go → Done — or False Start if someone jumps the gun. Players always know exactly what state the round is in.
Snappy click rounds
Every hit shows the instant it lands, and the leaderboard keeps up with the whole room going at once.
Aim pays
Only the moving key scores. It hops faster and shrinks as the clock runs down, and a miss locks it for a beat.
Balanced duel matchmaking
Pairings keep teams competitive and avoid sticking the same two players against each other duel after duel when alternates are available.
Fair scoring curves
Reaction points reward the fastest tap heavily. In a click round a key hit is worth 2 and a wild tap is worth nothing, so mashing loses to aim.
Reconnect-friendly
Wi-Fi blip or a reload mid-round? The phone keeps your count and sends it the moment it is back.
