The external environment covers the outside forces a business cannot control but must respond to. This unit looks at taxation, the state of the economy, employment and consumer law, social trends, technology, environmental pressures and the level of competition. Examiners like to set a short scenario, such as a tax cut or a new rival, and ask you to trace the effect on costs, demand or profit. The seven lessons each isolate one force, so you can learn the cause and effect chains separately and then combine them in longer answers.
Each set covers one lesson of Unit 7: External Environment in the NCFE Level 1/2 Technical Award in Business and Enterprise, with 20 multiple-choice questions on a timed countdown. Open a set to read its revision notes, host it straight away or save it to your library.
