Human Resources looks at how a business finds, employs and motivates its people. You study where vacancies are advertised and whether to hire from inside or outside the firm, the steps from job description to signed contract, and the contract types a business can offer. The unit then turns to motivation: financial rewards such as salary, bonus and commission, non-financial methods such as job rotation and empowerment, and the theories of Maslow and Herzberg. Examiners expect you to apply these ideas to a named business, so learn the advantages and drawbacks of each method and match them to a situation.
Each set covers one lesson of Unit 3: Human Resources in the NCFE Level 1/2 Technical Award in Business and Enterprise, with 20 multiple-choice questions on a timed countdown. Open a set to read its revision notes, host it straight away or save it to your library.
